For those who truly want to experience Zambia, we recommend spending part of your visit on a walking safari. With this option, guests walk with trained guides to bush camps (as opposed to traditional safari lodges) deep in the wilderness. This option offers more of a sense of immersion in the landscape but with the comfort of an experienced naturalist and armed game scout along for the journey. This walking safari begins and ends in fixed camps (Nkwali and Chongwe River Camp) but includes four nights at two comfortable bush camps (Chindeni and Kapamba). The terrain is wild and uninhabited, and the game is much less accustomed to seeing humans, so gameviewing tends to be a more authentic experience. Almost more important than the gameviewing, though, is the rare opportunity a walking safari presents for guests to explore the country on foot, see the pristine landscape, enjoy plenty of good exercise, and spend time in the solitude and quiet beauty of a bush camp. This is a truly unique experience that will be unforgettable for those who hope to step off the beaten track and see some of the undiscovered jewels of this magnificent country. Please note that this trip has a required minimum of two participants. |
