This excellent introduction to the highlights of Uganda starts with a chartered flight over the country's lush green hills and highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the rare mountain gorilla. Spend two nights in the forest, one of Africa's most biologically diverse. Spend a full day tracking gorillas in dense jungle, one of life's most exhilarating experiences. Bwindi is also home to many other primates, as well as many other mammals and birds. After two nights in Bwindi, drive north for two nights in Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way, travel through the southern sector of Ishasha, whose tree-climbing lions can often be seen languishing on the low branches of fig trees. Spend two nights at Queen Elizabeth, exploring the diverse terrain and its resident flora and fauna. Combining Lake Edward, the Kazinga Channel, and open savannah, the park is truly one of Africa's finest game reserves. Track chimps in the Kyambura Gorge and see the flamingoes elegantly balancing on one leg in the crater lakes. Return to Kampala for an afternoon of sightseeing before transferring to Entebbe for your departure flight.

Please note: Gorilla tracking is a physically strenuous activity, during which visitors may spend from 2 to 8 hours trekking through dense rainforest in an effort to see gorillas in their natural habitat. A reasonable degree of fitness and stamina is required for participation.
