| Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi | |||
| There is more to the UAE than just Dubai! Spend a week exploring this fascinating region, learning about Dubai and several of the other emirates. Start with a dinner on board a traditional dhow your first night, and find out why much of life in this city has historically centered around "the Creek." The second day, a private tour of Dubai will introduce you to the most notable markets and attractions of the city. Next, take a walking tour of Sharjah, a neighboring emirate that has an interesting Old Souk, Iranian market, and art museum. Spend the next day at leisure and, in the evening, ride out into the desert for a dinner beneath the stars, where a belly dancer will entertain you to the strains of Arabian music as you lounge on a pile of Persian carpets and snack on grilled meats and other traditional delicacies. The next morning, set out for Abu Dhabi, the glittering financial heart of this young country. Your final day, take a trip to a desert oasis, which has been a stop on the caravan trail for centuries. Seeing the spectacular desert scenery and spending time at the oasis town of Buraimi will certainly help you appreciate the stark contrasts of old and new that coexist harmoniously in the United Arab Emirates. | |||
