| Explore the fascinating seaside city of Muscat and one of the smaller outlying towns on this concise introduction to the charms of Oman. On your first day, you will be picked up from the airport and delivered to your Muscat hotel; the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the warm weather and pool. On the second day, you will be picked up for a full day excursion to the neighboring town of Nizwa. The drive showcases the craggy mountains surrounding Muscat, and stops along the way allow photographs of small oasis towns green with hardy date plantations. In Nizwa, tour the famous circular fort and the souq before heading to nearby Jabrin Castle, where beautiful ceiling paintings and elaborate woodwork demonstrate the workmanship of ancient Omani artisans. On your final day, take a city tour of Muscat, including a stop at the elaborate Grand Mosque, the informative Bait Al Zubair Museum, the waterfront Muttrah Souq, and a photo stop outside the Al Alam Palace, the official residence of the Sultan.
