| Kathmandu & Pokhara | |||
| This trip pairs the cultural riches of the Kathmandu Valley with a visit to the tranquil retreat town of Pokhara, famous for its awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas, clean mountain air, and friendly people. Spend two days touring the Kathmandu Valley's religious and artistic highlights, including Durbar Square, Khokona, Bhaktapur, and Chungu Narayan. After a thorough introduction to the charms around Nepal's capital, fly to Pokhara, a delightful lakeside town at the base of the impressive Annapurna Mountains. This first day in Pokhara, take a boat ride to admire Phewa Lake, the center of life in Pokhara, and spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. The next day is spent amid the foothills of the Himalayas: learn about the area's history of mountaineering, tour the Old Town area, visit the central market, and see the World Peace Stupa. The next day, fly back to Kathmandu and continue exploring with a visit to the Hindu temple Pashupatinath and the Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath. | |||
