Private Luxury Travel - Deluxe Dubai hotels - Burj al ArabBurj al Arab
In the shape of a spinnaker sail and surrounded by the Dubai coastline, the Burj Al Arab sits on its own private island connected to the mainland by a man-made bridge. It is arguably the most iconic building in Dubai and it has become a symbol for the luxury and magnificence of this flourishing emirate. The hotel prides itself on its extreme exclusivity and privacy, only allowing guests of the hotel past the front entrance. A chauffeured Rolls Royce drives guests to the hotel, where the rooms are all duplex suites featuring dining and living room areas, a 24-hour butler, and the latest advanced technology that adjusts the lighting, air conditioning, and curtains at the switch of a button. There is a full service spa on the 18th floor with sweeping views of the Gulf.

Thirty miles south of Dubai and framed by the Hajar Mountains, the Al Maha is the first eco-tourism resort in Dubai, and it offers a perfect combination of privacy, tranquility, and luxury. Built in the style of a traditional Bedouin encampment but with a luxury hotel ratio of three staff to each guest, the Arabian hospitality is unrivalled and the service impeccable. Suites have sturdy tented ceilings, hand-woven carpets, and Arabian antiques as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that allow guests to absorb the desert beauty. Stone bathrooms have enormous tubs and "his and hers" vanity areas leading to a private chilled plunge pool and wooden veranda. Guests are also encouraged to visit the Jamilah Spa, which features single and double treatment rooms linked by a public area to an 'infinity edge' relaxation pool. The cuisine is a blend of Arabic and Mediterranean influences and the dining area is located on an open-air sundeck amid the red sand dunes and under the vast desert sky.

The Park Hyatt Dubai is an oasis of sophisticated elegance spread along Dubai Creek with expansive views of the ever-changing Dubai skyline. With special access to the world-renowned Dubai Creek Golf Club, this is also the perfect hotel choice for those interested in hitting the links (but beware the famous Dubai heat!). The pool is one of the loveliest in the city thanks to the shade of numerous well-placed palms. The Park Hyatt's rooms are comfortably modern and all have views of the marina and offer either a patio or terrace. Guests can relax at the Amara Spa and enjoy cocktails at one of the terrace bars that have lovely sunset views. The Park Hyatt also offers some of Dubai's finest cuisine including French brasserie dining at Traiteur, Thai food at the Thai Kitchen, and excellent Arab and Middle Eastern specialties at Café Arabesque.

Private Luxury Travel - Deluxe Dubai hotels - Burj al ArabOne & Only Royal Mirage
This expansive property actually includes three separate mini-hotels, each with its own personality: the Palace, the Arabian Court, and the Résidence & Spa. We prefer the romantic feel of the Arabian Court, which has spacious rooms but maintains a sense of intimacy with its smaller scale and finely manicured gardens, courtyards, and winding walkways. The Royal Mirage has a private beach, but most visitors to Dubai prefer the large, refreshing palm-shaded swimming pools to the sandy shores of its beaches. Like everything in Dubai, the Royal Mirage operates on a grand scale; thankfully, the three separate properties manage to avoid feeling like a theme resort due to the careful dedication of an attentive staff.

Private Luxury Travel - Deluxe Dubai hotels - Burj al ArabThe Address Downtown Burj
As one of the many shiny new towers in Dubai, The Address is the perfect window from which to absorb the vitality of the booming city. The property occupies 63 floors that have 360-degree views of Dubai, including one side that showcases views of the largest dancing fountain in the world and the (current) tallest building in the world, the Burj Dubai. The stunning "chilled infinity pool" cascades over five tiers and boasts the same spectacular view. Rooms at The Address are unusually large and all come with balconies and wireless internet. The Club redefines club floor lounges with a nightly cocktail hour on the expansive outdoor terrace. And for the hottest nightclub with the best views in the city, guests need only to take the elevator to the top of the building, where Neo pulses and vibrates with the endless energy of Dubai.
